Knapdaar Boerdery is situated in the Vergelee district on the banks of the Molopo river and is managed by Barry Badenhorst. When the farm was purchased in 1992 the focus was breeding with Simmentaler and Brahman cross stud.
In 2000 Knapdaar Boerdery purchased their first Sable from Koos Kemp. The core of the herd consists of animals purchased from Ian Blackwood. At the 2013 Xtreme Auction Knapdaar sold their Sable Jan (Matetsi bull 48") as well as all their Matetsi cows. Knapdaar Boerdery currently has two Zambian breeding groups, one walking with the Zambian bull Mr Perfect (48") and the other with Chris Visser's bull Shivas (44.5").
They are focussed on exceptional bloodlines, genetics and the health of their animals. The mission of Knapdaar Boerdery is to breed above average animals and to rather concentrate on quality animals than quantity. An example of the quality that is bred on Knapdaar is the bull Fanjan (49.5”) who is currently being used by Sihencha for breeding.
